Around the town centre and Hollycroft you'll find Victorian and Edwardian terraces built for factory workers, with 1950s–70s estates further out and large new-build developments on the edges of town towards Barwell and Burbage.
Hollycroft Park and the tree-lined roads near the town centre shed a lot of leaves, and older cast-iron gutters on terraces often have a slight dip that holds silt. New-build estates have shallow gutters that block easily with moss falling off the roof. We find once a year is right for the average Hinckley home, with autumn the best time to book.
Many Hinckley homes have a single downpipe at the back serving the whole rear gutter, so when it blocks the water pours over the edge. We flush each downpipe and check it drains to the gully.
Everything is done from ground level using an industrial gutter vacuum. A camera on the pole lets us see inside the gutter as we work. There's no need to be home — the photos show you exactly what we removed.
